1. About Training
NFPA 11 Standard for Low, Medium, High Expansion Foam (2016 Edition) 18
If foam systems are part of your fire protection plan, the latest edition of NFPA 11 is a key resource.
Updated to reflect today's hazards as well as the systems and products in use, the 2016 edition
of NFPA 11: Standard for Low-, Medium, and High-Expansion Foam is the industry standard that
addresses all aspects of the design, installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of low-,
medium-, and high-expansion foam systems for fire protection.
Criteria apply to fixed, semi-fixed, or portable systems for both interior and exterior hazards.
Changes impact fire protection designers and engineers as well as installers, property managers,
and system maintainers.
The 2016 edition of NFPA 11 expands and clarifies the types of pipe and fittings that can be used in
foam systems. It also incorporates alternative test methods for foam proportioners and seal area-only protection for certain composite floating roofs.
NFPA 16 Standard for Foam-Water Köpük-Su Sprinkler and Foam Water Sprey (2019 Edition) 18 November 2019
NFPA 16: Standard for the Installation of Foam-Water Sprinkler and Foam-Water Spray Systems outlines requirements for the design, installation, and maintenance of systems for reliable fire protection. Consult the 2019 Standard for the latest on components; water supplies; design and
installation; acceptance tests; and inspection, testing, and maintenance.
Systems are to be designed with the required density for either foam or water application as the controlling factor, depending on the design purpose.
The 2019 edition of NFPA 16 is an essential resource for designing effective fire protection systems,
particularly for warehousing and process spaces where there is a high potential for flammable or
combustible liquid pool fires and also clarifies appropriate system design areas, and adds hose
stream demand and duration to the calculations.
This standard contains minimum requirements for the design, installation, and maintenance of foam-water sprinkler and spray systems. These systems shall be designed with the required density for either foam or water application as the controlling factor, depending on the design purpose of the system.
NFPA 30 Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code (2018 Edition) November 19-20, 2019
Learn about the latest requirements for the storage and handling of flammable and combustible liquids. This seminar covers flammable and combustible liquids and defines terms used in understanding flammable and combustible liquids. During this seminar case studies will be handled and there is also a possibility to deal with case studies based on local experience.
Upon completion, you will be able to:
- Explain the difference between flammable and combustible liquids.
- Understand the basic properties of all liquids will be introduced, including specific gravity, vapor density, evaporation rate, viscosity, water solubility and surface tension
- List the properties of flammable liquids, including flash point, fire point, boiling point,
flammable or explosive range, vapor pressure, auto-ignition temperature, flame propagation and burning characteristics (heat release, burning rates, smoke production, boil over, slipover, froth over)
This seminar covers the basics of flammable and combustible liquids. Topics include the seven
hazardous commodity types, most common protection strategies, a review of safe storage guidelines for inside a commercial or industrial facility, and a discussion on how protection and construction features can affect a facility.
These modules are included in the series:
- Flammable Liquids
- Flammable Liquids: Portable Containers
- Flammable Liquids: Storage Room
Upon completion, you will be able to:
- Explain the difference between flammable and combustible liquids
- Know about the updates of 2018 edition
- Review DOT and NFPA® labeling
- Define the basic properties of liquids and the special characteristics of flammable liquids
- Determine the capacities of container types based on liquid class, the class of the liquid relative to the size and type of containers, and the operating principles of safety cans and how they react in a fire, including the basics of cabinet capacity and construction.
2. Training Language
Training will be held in English.
English Turkish simultaneous translation will be available.
The training is to be conducted by the same professional NFPA lecturer used in the USA and NFPA’s approved trainer in Europe.
Trainer will be Bob Caputo.
Riskonet and NFPA hold the right to make change for the assigned trainer.
Almost each and every workplace has flammable and combustible liquids involved in their daily routine. If you are working in one of these workplaces and want to learn about flammable and combustible liquids, this is the right training program.
All engineers, architects, fire brigades, inspection authorities, certification bodies, plan
reviewers, designers, installers, inspectors, insurers, risk engineers, risk consultants, risk managers, project managers, production and storage managers, chemists and technicians will have the perfect opportunity to learn more about the NFPA 30 standard with attending this training.
5. Training Dates
Training will be held between November 18-20, 2019
6. Training Place
Training will be held in Istanbul, Turkey.
Location details will be shared later.
